This data file is intended for use with the Mixture Design (pt 2) tutorial. A detergent must be re-formulated to fine-tune two product attributes, which are measured as responses from a designed experiment: Y1 - viscosity Y2 - turbidity. Three primary components vary as shown: 3% = A (water) = 8% 2% = B (alcohol) = 4% 2% = C (urea) = 4% These components represent nine weight-percent of the total formulation, that is: A + B + C = 9% Other materials (held constant) make up the difference: 91 weight-percent of the detergent. For purposes of this experiment they are ignored. Experimenters chose a standard mixture design called a simplex lattice. They augmented this design with axial check blends and the overall centroid. Vertices and overall centroid were replicated, increasing the experiment size to 14 blends total. 35 72 72 72 72 72 0.333333 0.333333 0.333333 0 1 2 -1 0.333333 0.333333 0.333333 0 1 2 -1 0.333333 0.333333 0.333333 0 1 2 -1 4 2 3 46.5 630 4.33333333333333 2.33333333333333 2.33333333333333 35.1 671 3 3 3 45.3 949 3 4 2 91.6 546 3.66666666666667 2.66666666666667 2.66666666666667 34.8 984 3.33333333333333 2.33333333333333 3.33333333333333 70.7 874 5 2 2 37.2 378 3 2 4 144 641 3 4 2 87.8 323 5 2 2 40.8 436 3 2 4 130 786 3.66666666666667 2.66666666666667 2.66666666666667 46 1122 4 3 2 67.9 436 3.33333333333333 3.33333333333333 2.33333333333333 51.7 730
